Dulcie Davy, a visual artist from south London, primarily works within the mediums of painting and sculpture. She specialises in sculpted functional art, drawing inspiration from the beauty and diversity within the female black community, viewed through an afrofuturistic lens. She also creates large paintings that celebrate the essence of the divine feminine. Her work is influenced by both her mixed-race heritage and the vibrant city she grew up in.
Dulcie produced, curated and featured in the exhibition Timeless Innovation: The Contemporary Black Woman at Battersea Arts Centre, putting together a group of young, Black, female artists to display their artwork celebrating Black women’s innovation throughout history. She has showcased her works at various Soho House Studios, produced sold out "Paint & Sip" events, featured her art in an Oxford Street pop-up, collaborated with music artists and brands such as Apple and Tommy Jeans. In addition, Dulcie has amassed a following of over 55,000 on social media platforms, where she continues to engage and inspire art enthusiasts worldwide.
Davy Wokshops, created and led by Dulcie, are free creative workshops for teenage girls in London. They are particularly aimed at girls within BME groups and have been held at and supported by Battersea Arts Centre since 2020.
